Dogwood Canyon in conjunction with the Orvis Company run 2 day schools for those wishing to either move into the world of fly fishing, or current fly fishers who want to improve their existing skills.

Whether you choose to pursue the art of fly fishing on small streams or big rivers, bass lakes or ocean flats, Dogwood Canyon's Orvis School will show you everything you need to know.  The Orvis schools are the oldest in the country and our instructors have the knowledge and experience to introduce you to this great pastime.
Under the watchful eyes of Orvis instructors you’ll learn:
• Casting techniques
• Essential knots
• How to choose your gear and tackle
• Stream entomology
• Proper fly selection
• How to read water
• How to play, land, and safely release fish
At Dogwood Canyon, you'll receive comprehensive instruction,  lunches, and use of an Orvis rod, reel, line, leaders, and flies.  Courses are limited to eight and to check course availability follow the link below:
